You are invited. Come to dance or just to listen. You’ll be glad you did.
As part of a tour that will take them from Northern Ontario to St-Jean-de-Matha, Québec, this family band from Desbarats, in Northern Ontario, will make an all-too-brief stopover in Toronto. The O’Shraves features the talents of Toronto’s own Pat O’Gorman, the lovely and talented Julie Schryer, and their family Benoît and Zachary Schryer-Lefebvre and Aine. They really need no introduction!
Dan Gorno (caller) performs and teaches traditional dances from Ireland, France, England, Canada and Appalachia. He teaches workshops in many kinds of dance, and his square and contra dance calling is known for its high energy fun. The venue’s wood floor is ideal for dancing.
The dance will be held Thursday, February 23rd at Christ the Saviour Russian Orthodox Cathedral Church Hall, which is at 823 Manning Ave, Toronto (ON) M6G 2W7 (map) . The dance is up the stairs.
Doors open at 6:30, the dance begins at 7. Entry is by donation (suggested donation of $10.00), all are welcome.
